Frequently Asked Questions

Who is behind this project?

My name is Mary Beshay, a Coptic Canadian, and I am the founder of The CNP. We are based in Toronto, Canada. On the About Us page on our website, you can see more about the team behind CNP!

How can I contribute?

By submitting pieces in one of our five categories - articles, essays, personal narratives, creative narratives, and book reviews - to our email. You can help us grow by visiting and telling your friends about us!

What do you plan on posting?

We plan to amplify Coptic narratives and voices by posting the experiences, ideas, and stories of those in the community.

How do you define Coptic Narrative?

Coptic Narrative is defined as the experience or story of anyone who identifies as Coptic, both in the religious sense and cultural sense of the word. Most people who identify as Coptic are a part of the Coptic Orthodox Church, one of the oldest churches in the world. The Copts are not only concentrated in Egypt, but are also in diaspora communities in many nations around the world. We accept everyone's narrative.

Do you accept poetry?

Yes! They fall under our Creative Narratives section.

Do you focus only on Copts living in Egypt, or on Copts in diaspora as well?

No, we accept narratives from Copts living all over the world. From Egypt to Sudan to North America to Japan. We welcome all submissions!
